I was at an auction today where they had a restored F-30, it was painted blue. Is that the correct color for this model? I have seen gray and red but this blue is a first for me.

I do not think the F-30 electric start was an option from IHC. I believe it was an aftermarket like the F-20. Anyone know for sure?

the official date was after nov.1 1936 they switched to red. the correct color is a blue grey.never see any of them with the correct color.mccormick deering . com now has the original tractor grey available. it is an exact match from the original paint analisis.

If the tractor was made prior to the 4th quarter of 1936 it should be gray,if it was made after then it should be red. None of the F series farmalls had factory starters, the letter series was the first to have the option.

Your right about F-30's but in '39 F-20's had the electric starter option and lights too. No F-30's in 1939

The last of the F-30's could be ordered with tlectric start, and you could order a retrofit kit for the earlier ones. Someone is color blind if they "restored' one and painted it blue. Gray up until around 1935 - 1936 and red after.

Electric start was a option.
