Tractor Vet: I have read lots of your post on TA's. You talk about a seal rolling up when you go back together. Will you tell me which seal you are exactally talking about, so that I will be sure and watch out not to roll her up. I would think it's the big one #361248R92. May sound stupid, but I've spent so much time and money now, I'll ask a stupid question in order not to do this again, I hope. BTW, someone before us took her apart and drove the seals in with a screw driver and bent the heck out of the cases. All of them. She was definitely leaking around those TA seals and I see why. I'm replacing all seals and Disc for the Nut. It all seems in good shape. The clutch and pressure plate show very little wear. Just poor work I think. But i want any advice i can get from you or anyone who has put them back together.

Yes the one you need to keep from rolling is the large one you are refering too. I know its not directly shown but its the one behind the flywheel.

Sorry picture might be bit blurry.

A good way to keep it from rolling is to cut off part of an antifreeze jug or something and roll it round. Than put it in the the seal before pushing the shaft though. Than once its in be sure and check that it hasnt rolled with a flashlight and small mirror.

Also when you put the flywheel retaining nut on be sure to get it real tight. With mine I held the flywheel in place with a large prybar and tightened the nut with a hammer and punch. Like I said it needs to be real tight.

Hope this helps ya..... ....Jordan

Thanks so much to you and ejr. This is the first time we have done a TA tear down. All warnings sure do help.

TO post a photo you have to upload it to a host site such as photobucket.com or similar. I use photobucket cause it works nice and is free. Than once its uploaded you copy the HTML code or the IMG code it varies with forum sites and paste it where you want the picture. YOu will know if its going to show up cause it will show either the picture oor the red X in your response preview.

Also heres a link to my 560 album there are some more photos that might help you with your TA.

Dont for get to put a rubber band around the barrel roller bearing in the rear housing before you slip the TA housing in to the rear end.And dont forget the Oring on the hydraulic suction line between housings.
