Hi all, I`m working on this beast of a machine for my deer club we use for putting in food plots. It's been sitting for a couple years, but in a shed. I got it running but the hydraulics won`t work. occasionally the three point will suddenly lift but after letting it dowwn it won`t go up again. the power steering doesn't work either. it's got plenty of fluid and I've tried loosening the lines to bleed any air with no success. Can anyone offer any advise on problem areas I could check?
Thanks much, Ed B

Hopefully that'll fix it for you. Keep in mind if the fluid is really bad it may take more than one change to get things cleaned up all the way. After one fluid and filter change mine is usable but it's still not prefect in cold weather...

A good place to start -

Pull the hydraulic filter canister, clean the pre-filter screen and replace the paper filter. Mine like a couple of others I've heard of was clogged so badly the suction of the pump had collapsed the pre-filter screen. The 3pt was slow or wouldn't work at all depending. I don't have power steering.

Before you reassemble everything go to caseih.com and look at the diagram of the filter assembly. Make sure you have all of the parts in the assembly and they're installed in the correct manner.
If the fluid is milky you should replace that too before you fire it up and clog the new filter. Make sure you drain the bottom of the rear housing and also the upper 3pt case. There's one plug on the bottom of the rear drive case, and the upper plug is on the right rear side of the 3pt housing in front of and below the rockshaft.

You'll need 7+ gallons of HyTran or equivalent UTF to refill.

Good luck!
