I took the advise from the thread of Super A hydraulics (thanks guys)and got both front and rear arms to pick up. The problem now is they will not go back down. I have the plug out and had the motor throttled up pretty good. Still a lot of pressure on the high side and the low pressure has good volume coming out. Is there a pressure relief valve in this system? Maybe it could it be a stuck valve in the head?

Thanks for the link to the book. I ordered one today. How did I gauge the pressure on the high side, Well to be honest I did not have a gauge on it but when I opened the allen head plug I got sprayed pretty well, just glad I had my glasses on and luckily I had an old t-shirt on. How much pressure in lbs should be on that line? Do ya think marvins mystery oil may help if added? Anyhow thanks for the replies.

Hi John...I don't think I would add anything to the hydraulic fluid. I'd be worried that it could swell or soften the seals.
I think the pump puts out about 1,200-1,400 PSI. Pete

John: Take the advice of both Pete's. I expect they are refering to the same text as I have in my 140 Blue Ribbon Service Manual 25 pages and 7 pages of trouble shooting on hydraulics. My book has 7 sections of which hydraulics in one of them.

Hi John. Well, glad to hear you had some progress... the arms moved in one direction anyhow.
Yes there is a pressure relief valve in the head. Probably the best thing for you to do is to get a copy from your dealer of the "Farmall Touch Control Service Handbook" GSS1024. It has a trouble shooting section and a parts picture and list. You'll probably need a hydraulic pressure gauge also since part of the trouble shooting calls for it's use. Think I paid $6.00 for the 32 page handbook(about 10 years ago).
How are you gauging pressure on the high side? If there is high pressure with a open center system like this when the arms are not lifting some thing, then it could be indicating a problem just like you say, possibly with a stuck pressure reliel valve. Also related to high pressure and arms not moving is a orfice in the head and it could be plugged up. The Handbook tells it's location and how to clean it out. Long spring day today and I can't recall much more on the troubleshooting right now. Pete

binderbooks.com has it for $8.95.

Hope this link will do it. GSS-1024.
