Can anyone give me info on primeing fuel pump? Is cap on top for lubrication oil? Is plug on side to prime pump?

The flip up cap is for lube oil, the same as you use in the engine crankcase. The petcock on the side of the pump is the oil level. Lower plug is to drain the old oil when you change the oil. Nothing to bleed on the injection pump. You bleed at the filters and then by running in gas mode and advancing the diesel speed control lever and hope for white smoke which will indicate diesel is getting to the injectors. If injector lines have been drained due to overhaul, etc, then you may have to loosen connections at the injectors while running in gas mode to get all the air out.

MD9??? no such thing. must be WD9 or TD9.but anyhow it seems you want to bleed the fuel system.just bleed the primary filter, and secondary filter.if you need to, loosen injector lines at injectors to bleed pump and lines.the flip cap on top is for engine oil.the pump holds about 2 cups of oil.the 1/8 plug on btm is the oil drain.you change this oil at same time as engine oil, or sooner as the transfer pump seals usually leak diesel in here.
