Hi, I submitted a post earlier and may have worded it wrong, my fan belt blew and in trying to put a new one on the space between the front engine pulley that has a gear in front of that for the loader hrdraulics is next to nothing, from what I see I either will have to jack the engine up or loosen the front-end forward to get the belt to pass by the pulley with the gear in front of it. Has anyone had this kind of problem that could help?
Thanks very much for your information, Fred

I have added a picture in the "Help Identify" to the left of the screen, maybe this will help show my problem.
Thank you everyone for helping,
Fred

I wasn`t planning to just jack the poor gal up without doing some major unbolting, I may be able to unbolt the front somewhat and fit the belt in? Thank you for the information,
Fred

without seeing this i would think the gear would be bolted to the front pulley. this will have to come off to slip the belt on crank pulley.

Thank you for the come back on my problem but I`m trying to not have to take the front end of the Tractor loose or off, I cannot get no tools between to get at the gear, I`m wondering if I could jack the Engine maybe? I have pictures but don`t know how to post them yet.
Thank you, Fred

Hi,
I just wanted everyone to know I have the fan belt on and she is running just fine. I had to take the bolts off of one side of the front end and lossend the other side ones a tad, I then used a come-along to move the front end enough to get the belt on. Thanks again everyone,
Fred

Fred, see my answer to your other post, how will jacking the engine move the gear out of your way? Step back, take a breath, look from the bottom should be space to remove "gear" from front pulley. MAYBE remove pump from loader frame and pull "gear" forward, I have yet to see any accessories that require "jacking up the engine or disassembly" of the front end to replace a belt. Lots of these old tractors around that had the selling point of ease to work on, no computers, simple hydraulics, simple electricals, so the owner could repair himself and keep working.

I believe his problem is a gear has been added in front of the crankshaft pulley, maybe it was added while the engine was removed, which might very well mean it can't be removed in the frame.

Dick,
Thank you so much for that response about the gear being added while the Engine was either out or the front end off, I have started to loosen the front end and will move it ahead the 3/4 of an inch I will need. I`m not a spring chicken and have run into problems like this on other projects, I was asking for information because that is the best route to go before tearing into something you never have before. Thanks again Dick for your understanding in this matter. I will get it done.
Fred
