i picked up my rusty but running farmall A has a hay mower on the back i had to take off just a bit tall for the garage sadly runs on but over heating i drained radatior water came out black must have been full of dirt had the hose running through it all day still got hot but not as quickly temp gauge not any good no glass in it same as oil presure gage what else could i do to clean it out?? and on the tappet cover there is what i think is a engine breather is it ment to have a cap or something on it? and there is a we bit of smoke is that ok??

Make sure you keep us informed on your progress. I hope to get the rusty relic A that I dragged out of a scrap heap running for the first time by the end of next month.

thats a breather on the valve cover they are not to high. you can get them new and are you sure its over heating? if its gurgleing and surging like a coffee maker thats normal they call that thermosiphon system . i have a new gauge on one of mine and it hardly ever moves you have to work the snot out of them to get the gauge to register much i have three of them. good little fellers enjoy yours
