Hey guys, I have a 300 utility in real need of a steering gearbox. Manual steering. Does anyone happen to have one? Tractor pretty good otherwise. Thanks, John

sounds like there's quite a few of us - mine has lots of "play" - the front wheels can move 1/2" without the steering wheel moving.

If only I had the time to start a rebuilding business - sounds like there would be a few takers!

I've got a 300U that needs a steering gear box too. I believe it can be welded, but haven't got around to taking it apart yet.

Re: international 300 Utility, what to do? in reply to Jcip, 04-18-2008 18:24:42
As a 300U owner myself, I see posts about steering all the time. It must have been a problem area, especially for those of us who have loaders. My manual steering has been welded on but it works fine. I am changing over to power steering because of the effort it takes to steer with a loader.

I am trying to decide if it is worth removing the entire steering assembly and try selling it or use part of the base of it that includes the gas tank supports and fabricate my new steering valve mounting up from there. That would save me a lot of time and effort (I'm a sloooow fabricator) but I appreciate how hard it is to find the steering assembly, so I am undecided on this one and need some input.
