I just purchased a Stiner manifold for my F30,But Im not sure of a few things. My head has sleeves in the Intake ports that stick out about 1/2 in.They go into the head about 3inches,and are very tight.Do I remove them from the head or do I have them cut and plained down flush with the head.My machinest said plaining them off would be the best,Please give me your opinions

Just pull them out. One of my F-20s has them as part of the all-fuel manifold. I believe they are to help transfer more heat to the distilate vapor. You should not need them if you use gasoline.

Just leave the them out. Next you will see that the studs are too long, just take a die and thread them all the way down and that will take care of it. I just put an after market manifold on my F 30 and that was the problems that I had. It runs good with the new one on it. The old one was all fuel and the new one is Gas.

Probably. If you already have the head off anyway. But I wouldn't take it off just for that. I'd saw them off with a hacksaw or chisel them out, whatever. I doubt you will notice a difference in running. I think they were probably more to prevent leakage than anything else.
