Jim, while attempting to slide the axels out on my H to move the bull gear out of the way access the bull pinion shaft. I used your advise of putting a spacer between the two bolts on the bull gears. The rear axle moved out 3/4 inch and is bound up. I do not want to use excessive force. The tire is off the ground. Is there something on the rear axle I need to disconnect I cant see anything in the parts book? Thanks Matt

There should be nothing causing that to happen as far as I know. The Wt of the tire might be a factor. Look in the archives here to see if there is further info on the topic. --Bull gear removal--
One way to get pressure off of the axle would be to Place a plywood square under the tire, and on top of 3 or 4 small diameter rollers (maybe 1/2" pipe) then let the axle down enough to rest on that support. It may be necessary to remove the axle seal retainer where the axle is visible on the housing, but it has been a long time sense I was doing it. JimN
