Need Help again!Got the 3rd control valve mtd and hooked up to single action cyl.on the loader hoist.I assume the oil is supposed to go back to the resorvoir when lever is pushed to down position (back thru the same line)??valve set to single. Not my luck-seems to put a load on the engine unless the valve is pushed forward very quickly. NORMAL ??What am I doing wrong ?tried it on the other valve with same results. This valve works fine on the double acting dump cyl. Thanks .

I am currently overhauling my 350 valve stack. In my manual it shows that apparently there is always pressure on the system so that when you open a valve it will react instantly. When no cylinder is being operated, the oil is recirculated back to the reservoir through a regulator valve. The only difference between single acting and double acting cylinders is in single acting the oil is either pumped into the cylinder or drained and the double acting cylinder the oil is pumped from one end or the other. Rotating the valve from single to double changes the way the ports line up in the valve to allow this to happen. Roger

My take on these is that they will load the hydraulics some to assure no drop in the system pressure. this may just be the way they are. Others may chime in, but loading happens at partial lever movement. JimN
