I like mine better, gets me up higher out of the bugs and dust... of course my transport speed is only 15mph, but I can live with that.

Way back then, all they mowed around home was the first bar length from the road. Didn"t need much traction. Mostly used John Deere Ls. Bernie Steffen

As I remember it, back when that tractor was built, all they mowed was the first bar length from the road, at least that was the way it was in Iowa where i live. Mostly used John Deere Ls with five foot mower. Bernie Steffen

Unique, but I agree with Jim on the traction. Sort of like trying to mow wet rough ground with a car or pickup. Top speed of an A is less than 10 mph--that thing has to have at least a very different 4th to go 20 mph with those small wheels. Looking at it again, it is a Frameall (experimental), looks that that is one of the few that IH didn't destroy, provided it was actually sold. Wonder what the round thing on the side of the engine is, where the distributer usually is?

This was an international prototype. They built other things like the M with lift-all. There are some odd contraptions in the wisconsin historical societies photos.

What a beauty. If the front axle would have been a drive axle it would have been an instant success!! W/O more drive traction, it would have been virtually worthless in the ditches. Neat. JimN

The ditches here are all still mowed from the road shoulder...mower hangs out the side like that one. Most ditches here are not "drivable" due to being dug with backhoe etc.
