My Super M has M and W add on Hyd. The pump is plumed to a splitter valve. It wil not lift a heavy implement it does work on very light ones. Is there anything in that splitter to adjust pressure or am I in for a new pump? thanks in advance

Okay I took the valve apart found the relief with seemingly nothing wrong with it. Put everything back together measured 1400 lbs pressure on the hose. Tryed it out everything seems to work now. thanks

We have a M&W pump on a Farmall M with a front end loader. The loader wouldn't raise more than a few inches off the ground. Adding oil seemed to help. But the real problem was the pump shaft broke. The seal couldn't maintain the fluid. All the hydraulic oil started filling the engine crankcase. Probably not the problem if you have good pressure.

Maybe your cycl dia is too small for what you are trying to lift.

firt thing i'd do is get a pressure gauge on the hydraulics and see what kind of pressure you got. if memory serves, i think those pumps were in the 1200-1400 psi range, not sure tho, but its a ball park. there should be a relief valve in there somewhere too, either in the spool valve or ahead of it. i think the m+w had a separate releif that plumbed in before the spool and would dump fluid to the return line. they sometimes stick open a little giving you low pressure.

If you have access to a guage I would check the pressure, that will pretty much tell you the condition of the pump, If it is starving for oil and has the filter check it.
