I just upgraded from a cub to a Super A. Im ready to plow the garden. All I have are cub implements. I reversed the draw bar and bolted the cub plow on. All looks good. My problem is with the depth control lever. The cub unit wont bolt on to the A, holes wont line up. If I cant find a Super A depth control lever, Im going to modify the cubs. Will this work when Im done or am I doing this for nothing. Does the super A plow work the same as the cubs, with the floating draw bar reversed? Does anyone have a picture of how the super A plow is supposed to look? Any advise is apprecieated.

thanks

Ron

Why not get a plow made for your tractor. I have one I would sell. Single bottom made for the A and super A

Sure I would love to buy the correct plow set up for my A, location is the key. Im in Canton, Ohio. Anyone within 100 miles of me? What Im doing with the cub stuff is just temporary untill I locate the correct plow. Its what I have so its what I must use untill I find A impliments.

yes, the cub plow is shorter in length. To compensate for this, I mounted the drawbar reverse but not in the forward most holes. This way, The chains on the plow are able to be hung on the rear lift arms in a straight vertical line, not at an angle. Instead of using hydrolic touch control to adjust depth, I think I can adapt the manual depth control lever from the cub by simple drilling a few new and bigger holes. This should work. I already tried angleing the drawbar to the lowest holes on the mounting brackets, mine had 4 positions, and its not a big enough angle, just skimmed the top. Maybe with the original A plow it would work but not with the cub plow. All of this is just a temp. fix to get me through this year untill I can find the correct set up. I will keep yo posted on how it works. Hopefully, I will have my garden plowed in a week or two. Its supposed to snow here in Ohio this sunday so this weekend is out!!!!!

The Super A plow is much heavier built than the Cub. The cushion springs on the hitch are about twice as big. I'm surprised you were able to bolt the Cub plow up on the super A, as I thought the plow beam on the Cub plow was shorter, but maybe not. The Super A plow works the same as the Cub, only it's bigger. You turn the drawbar around and mount it on the front holes in the final drives. I think you do the same on the cub. The Super A plow has a rod that goes from the Draw bar to the RH front rockshaft to work as the dept control. It moves the drawbar up and down, controlling the tilt of the plow. However, that part is frequently missing. I used a Super A plow (I now have a 140 with Fast Hitch Plow) for years without that adjusting rod. I just set the draw bar with the bolts in the brackets to the lowest setting. Doing that takes a couple of passes to get going, but it will work.

No they are different as the C mounts up under the belley and the rockshaft determines the depth. The other rockshaft raises and lowers the bottom up and down. You need the assy for the C to attach the plow.
