A now-deceased fellow I knew had a huge fruit and vegetable farm in NJ. He chose to buy "old" tractors from the 40s and 50s because he could get them cheap compared to new stuff, and he could have them equipped to go straight out to the fields without changing cultivators, planters, mowers, etc. He had a mechanic he trusted come in every winter and take care of any problems. All the tractors were repainted to like new. I heard he had about 40 tractors, many of them IHC A, B, C, H and M (and Super) series.
He must have been some manager. To avoid having to go about 30 miles to a dealer to buy a starter if one went out, he bought $25,000 worth of starters to have on hand. After he died, there was a huge sale to which the beautiful tractors attracted a lot of collectors. The dealer who sold the starters (and probably a lot of other parts to this farm) very kindly took all the starters back for a small restocking fee.
I happen to know that one of the tractors was a '41 M that had belonged to one of my uncles. Shows how long these husky devils can go on working.

None will be around.

In your old age, you will be too febble to keep them running.

After you die, the kids will sell them to the scrap man.

Sammy the red, I'll call you in a hundred years and let you know. I'm older than any of them but I'm thinking like tesmith66, there were so many of the N's made (around half a million) and only a little more than 10,000 240 U's not counting the 240 row crop. The Kubota plastic is probably biodegradable and won't last that long anyway. I like them all though. David.

The Ford will outlive them all due to parts availability.
I have a 2N and a 340 Utility; 340 parts (non-wear items like castings, sheet metal, linkages, etc.) are VERY hard to come by. I can get anything I need for the Ford from a number of vendors. I can even get gaskets, tune up parts and water pumps from Napa or Car Quest.

It's also pretty hard to kill an N series because they aren't able to do the real big work. Mine is used mostly for mowing.
