Is it hard to mount a belt pulley on one of these? From the pictures I see, it looks like it just mounts over the existing rear PTO shaft. Do you remove a cover or something? Thanks.

Daniel got it right. Not hard to do, but make sure you get the gear off the end of the shaft coming out of the transmission housing. If the tractor was not originally equipped with a belt pulley, likely there is only a spacer where that drive gear goes. Also some of the gears are different, so insist of getting the drive gear with the belt pulley unit and also the shims. The cover that is there when there is no pulley has a gasket, but the belt pulley unit uses shims to adjust the gear lash and a large O ring to seal against leaks. Also, if you find a parts tractor with the belt pulley and need to take off that drive gear, you will need a bearing separator and a puller to get the gear off.

There is a cover above the PTO shaft. Thee tractor has to have a bevel drive gear on the end of the transmission shaft to run the belt pulley. If you pull a belt pulley, be sure to get the gear and the shims from the donor. You will need a new large o-ring (358208R1) to seal the belt pulley housing. Lubricate the o-ring good before installation.
