I bought a new starter switch for my 130 from CaseIH, back in Jan. The switch has not been damaged in any way, Today it stuck, not enough to engage the starter, but I could hear battery humming and turning into a bubbling sound. It was probably stuck less than 30 seconds as I had just started the tractor and moved it about 20'. I hit the starter switch with my fist and it popped out.

I took a battery cable off and the button was clearly sticking. Applied some penetrating oil and it freed right up. Put my cable back and it was almost dead. I hand cranked it and it fired right up, alternator charging. I moved it up in front of shop door and after 10 min shut it off. It was better but still wouldn't crank. I put a charger on it for two hours, now it cranks as well as ever and starts. I think I'm safe on the starter, but I'm betting that barrtey will be dead again in the morning.

I raise this as I've had 6 of these tractors in the past 50 years, currently still have 3 one of them being the original. In all my years, I never had one of those switches stick. Also in all my years, I've never seen such a tin can example of one of those switches. I could just as easily not noticed that and gone to the house for the night.

Hugh,I just purchased one and installed it on a starter that fits my F14,I took the cable back off to reroute my cables and the stud just wanted to turn,I had to throw it in the trash and went and bought another one,The switch looked like it was made out of recycled beer cans

jimmy: I think my battery survived. I started the tractor early this morning. I was away all day and decided to give it a try when I got home, fired right up.

IH does not have the same quality suppliers it had several years ago, some of the miscellaneous stuff is cheap, but not in $.

CNKS: Your right and it is certain parts. I thought the last two starter switches I've bought were junk.

I just basically wanted to warn folks, as I almost walked away not noticing this.
