When first started and engine cold oil pressure on gauge appears around 30-40, but after warm up it looks to drop to 7-10 perhaps lower becouse needle will bounce at idle. Doesn"t blow smoke or use oil that I"ve noticed but does have some leaks around bottom oil pan. Runs and starts really well. Looking for comments and ideas. Could the oil passages around valves be clogged somewhat not allowing oil back down to pan where the guage and filter is at? Re-build or new rings?

kmm: I've got a 130, it's been doing that for 25 years and up until 4 years ago I used it enough to burn 500 IMP gallons of gas yearly. I still probably burn a 100 gallons. As gene quite normal.

You can make it better by work on oil pump, but as long as it's pumping oil I wouldn't bother. Even a few pounds pressure indicates it is pumping oil.

Assuming the main and rod bearings are not worn out, the problem is likely a warped oil pump cover. They are made of thin pot metal and are prone to warping. Had one on a C-153 (same oil pump) that had to be sanded down .014 to get it flat.

Easy to check this. drop the pan, pull the pump out and disassemble.
