Seems that there was a higher head bolt torque value that people were using for the Super A, Super C, 140, etc. Anyone recall what it was ?

Thanks

Greg

ps Super C started on the third try, runs good so far.

Greg: I've got my SA at 90, may be unconventional but at least the head gaskets stay.

80 ft/lbs is the torque I use on C113/C123 engines.

Not 100% sure, but I think the original 65 ft/lbs was changed by IH because of the newer type head gaskets.

I had gone up to 70 ft.lb., I'll have to go pull on them some more.

Thanks guys

Greg
