Om my '46 K-3 truck, the bottom plug on the carb is stripped(the bowl-not the plug), it will hold gas, but leaks it on the manifold- in the sense that I can run it a little, but keep a can under the carb. Any ideas on a fix? I hate to get another carb when this one runs so nice.

Very tiny thread inserts are available that can be screwed into a new tapped hole, then seated with thread locking tabs, or cemented in place. Fastenall probably, or motion industries. JimN

One possibility, other than re-tapping the threads or drilling it out, and retapping it to the next size plug, is to put JB weld on the plug and screw it in(permanently). Someone else may have a better idea.
