Does my 1946 H 6-volt system have a positive or negative ground? Thanks for any reply.

A lot of tractors have been converted to 12 volt negative ground, and a lot have been cobbled on electrically.

The safest answer will be found by following your cables. Your chassis is your ground. Start with the positive terminal of your battery and follow the cable. If it bolts to some part of the chassis without being interrupted by switches, etc., then you have a positive ground. If that isn't the case, trace the cable back from the negative terminal of the battery and see if it runs directly to ground. If it does, then you need to explore whether you're set up for 6 or 12 volts.
