I purchased an older style wide front (tie rods in front of the axel) for my 1940 Farmall H. The wide front was missing the short (left) tie rod. Does anybody know where I can find a used tie rod or aftermarket. I have searched high and low for one with no luck. If anybody has any idea where I could find one I would appreciate it. Thank-you

To get a part # go to the case-ih website.do a parts search for farmall h tractor and then look in the accessory under adjustable front tread. note there are 2 styles available. one has spindles that are 90 degrees to the upright and the other will be slanted. not sure if the rods are available but check with A&I Products. they do have the spindles but are listed for an early m if the spindles are 90 degrees. If you do have the early 90 degrees I could get measurements for you off mine.

Are you missing both pieces? You could have these made fairly easy. The first piece uses a ball type mount that is welded to a piece of round tubbing. the other is a piece of round stock 7/8 diamitor that has a 90 degree bend it has notches ever 2 inches. I could give you deminsions for the 7/8 piece if you know of a machine shop that could put the notches in. I just got done makeing 2 of these of my 2 fronts.

Do you know the part number? Quite a few of those parts are available through the aftermarket, but I don't know if we can go back quite that far.
