I'm going to an auction this Saturday looking to pickup one of these up.
The farmer who owned it used it but took good care of his equipment and always stored it inside.
The sale bill with pictures is at www.tandsauctions.com
What would a good high bid be on this baler?
Thanks.

Well the auction was today and I did not buy a baler. I guess I did not want or need it that bad.
It went for $1650, an 990 MC went for $1600.
They were in good condition but nothing special, so I"m still looking.

Thanks for all the replies, I'll figure around $500 and if it goes much over that I'll still be looking.
There's a few other items I'm interested in so I need to spread my money around a little.

I have one and gave 900 for it 8 years ago and hasn't given me any trouble.

Jeff,

I baught a 440 for $575 a couple of years ago. The IH balers are not very popular so they should go cheap. Alot of buyers/resellers will not touch them.

Just for comparison, I bought a very nice NH 275, much more advanced than the 430, for 1100 dollars three years ago. And it's RED! In fact I repainted some of it with IH2150 with hardener and it matched the old paint very well. Good match for the SMTA.

It takes two people at an auction to determine the price. How bad do you want it??

I'm just trying to get a ballpark value so I don't go to high.
The last baler I had was a 520 Oliver I gave $200 for and repaired it to use, then sold it I believe for $400 or $500. If I'd have known I was going to start raising hay for my horses again I would have kept it.
So I'm thinking some where around $500 tops for this one.
Thanks Jeff
