Friend has a 340 trike front end and he wants me to put a loader on it. Its a trike type front end. I told him no way. To light and with the trike front and knowing him I figure I will see him being buryed in the near future if I do. What do you guys think?? I figure its to light and he wants to use it to move round bales again way to light sine he will be useing a NH851 baler which should put out bales 1500lbs plus.
Thanks

He's putting up his hay too darned sloppy wet.

An 851 couldn't build a 1500 lb bale with a gun held at it's temple. :>)

More like 800 to 1K lb bales.

I have a Farmall 340 trike loader with the narrow bucket. It works ok for loading manure and such. Round bales or a 6ft wide bucket NO WAY. Will snap in two or tip it over. Far far to light. Can just barely move rounds with a JD620 with the JD45 loader (have to keep it low) and it's twice the tractor the 340 is.

Yes just another example of someone who thinks when they have a loader they can move the world. 1600LB bales on a 3500lb tractor NOT. Maybe he is just looking for somebody to sue.

i sure wouldn't put any loader capable of lifting any 1500 (or even 1000#) bale on my 340. i'd be afraid of snapping the front wheels right off, or tipping the tractor sideways if you got careless. burying it would be the easy problem.
