Hi all.. Question, does a 1935 F20 have a replaceable element oil filter or a screen type that you wash out? The dude that I bought the tractor from said the oil was changed but I want to do it the right way. If it is replaceable who has one or more? (Rice equipment?) Any comments on oil WT? Tractor does some parading and plowing..(2-14) Just wanting to do the right way the first time!! Thanxs in advance!

It uses the same oil filter as a 450 gas.

I use a Fram 136A in my F series tractors and my M. Most farm stores have them.

Not sure on 35 F-20, but they did have 3 different oil filters on 10-20s. The first type was felt covered cloth and wire spring, washable. second type was metal washable, third type was paper replaceable. I can say all three had different rods and or adapters in the base that held the canister down. Most if used late in years had the paper type installed. I heard from an old timer, IH sold a retrofit kit for them. You may have to pull the filter out and see what you got in there. If you have the cloth type, you will never find a replacement unless you make one. As for oil I use straight 30wt detergent oil in summer. I use that in all my tractors from the 35 F-12 to the 51 H.
