Last week I went to the Pre War antique auto swapmeet at Chickasha OK. I found a 29 chevy fuel pump that looks an awful like the hard to find one used on the F-12 tractors! The guy I got it from was a chevy dealer 50+ years ago in O,Fallon, IL and he said it looked like a chevy, but the pump arm might be different. If that is the case, then anyone needing a good pump housing, should be able to swap out the pump arm off an old 29-30 chevy pump. It might be possible the chevy pump may work as late as 37. I haven"t put mine on yet as my old one still works fine, but thought I would pass on the info.

Its an ACDELCO pump, so maybe something else could be made to work. Seems like I saw in one of my coworkers hotrod magazines that someone was selling repo pumps that looked similar to the one on my 14 minus the sediment bowl. This definately warrants some looking into.

Yes, this AC pump I am talking about has the sediment bowl! I will rephase the year spread and say 1929-1936. It looks identical to the F-12 pump with the only possible difference being the pump arm which can be changed out (I am not totally sure if the arm is different but suspect it is). Gary Wallace at 20schevyparts.com has the diaphrams and rebuild kits supposedly for modern fuel, but not sure if it will hold up to "reformulated" gas like sold in St Louis, Chicago, California ect. He does live in St Louis so maybe it will.

GeneMO, don't feel bad - I let my A set for three years because I didn't know there were points in the magneto!

My F-14 has set for 10+ years for want of a fuel pump kit. Thanks. I really had not put much effort into finding one. Too many irons in the fire.

Thanks again, Gene

Good information...

In the interest of keeping info together, I'll mention that there are a few sources for the F12/14 fuel pump rebuild kits... Rice Equipment is one of them, along with Dave Reed of Otto Gas Engine Works. I believe around $20 for the kit. A quick google search will provide their web sites.
