HI Forum

We have an 404 with hydraulic oil coming out of the gear shifter. The unit was left out and had some water get into the hydraulic system. Drained let set a few days and refilled. when filling all hydraulic work until most of the oil is worked (Pushed) out pass the shifter. Any and all opinions welcome . Thanks !! Teddy

Agree with J. It's probably overfilled. My 404 had over 2 gallons extra in it when I got the tractor and it was blowing oil out of the shifter.

I guess people think you fill them to the bottom of the fill plug...

probably to much fluid. are you using hy-tran?
there is a plug near the rear left of the rear housing for fluid level. its a 1/4 inch square plug. fluid shouldleak out of it slowly.
