Has any one rebuilt one of these pumps for a SH,300,350,SM,400, I have a parts diagram from CNH but it says there should be 2 seals in the front mine has one. What goes wrong when they leak oil into the motor. My shaft is not worn to bad but she was putting 2 quarts of oil an hour into the motor at idle not using the pump. JON

I put a Thompson pump together tonight. I think it"s off of a 400 series and am putting it on a 1952 W9. Had a terrible time getting that big seal in straight. The seal from caseih was part no. 363781R91 which is a CR 8842 seal according to Chicago rawhides Web site interchange chart. The National seal I ended up using is No. 471137 Which is available most places for half the price.

Magman, The seals can be stacked and placed in a position to run where the old one didn't. Speedy sleeves can also be used to make a seal at that spot. If the pump frame/bushing is worn, the seal will not hold very well. If using 2 seals, put chassis grease between them to lube the outer seal. JimN

Thanks Jim, I guess its time to go to the dealer and look for the seals and such. MagMan
