I am going to a little known auction and they have in the back corner of the lot an A Farmall, i was wondering what to look for or expect for things to look at for potential problems to see if this is a lemon or a nice find. what is a good going price range. i have never been around farmall equipment.

Also, make sure you can operate the touch control unit if possible, as older units that leak and or operate irratically are not uncommon. And it is the part that makes the tractor multifuntional and useful. Great units the Super A's. The pre-cursor and close cousin to my 140.

He said A not the SA so there wont be any hy system on that model.

Most important thing,look for the block cracked behind the flange where the front bolster fastens to the block.Or evidence where its been welded.They are known to break there if their abused.Cub the same way.Most important to look behind the hydraulic pump,on the right side of the engine.Also look the bolster over carefully.


Do the same for Farmall B's and C's too.These tractors don't like being bounced on the front end.


Otherwise,just check it like you would any other used tractor you might be interested in.

Correction its a Super A looks to be in decent condition. its a non farm related auction.
