I've got a Little 240 Utility. Runs great, but, every 30 seconds or so the engine revs up and I can tell it is the hydraulics is what causes this. My Question is, are the hydraulics bleeding off and the pump kicks in. Is there any way to fix this. Runs great otherwise. This is not a big problem, I would just like it to sit there and idle smoothly. Thanks

Well Hugh, I left the hitch midway, instead of all the way up, and that seemed to solve the problem. Runs smoothhhhh hhhhh hhhhh hhhhh hhhhh hhhhh. Thanks to both of you guys.

It's an open center system. The pump runs all the time, just pumping the oil around and around until it's needed.

If it's truly the hydraulics causing this, something is causing a demand on the hydraulics.
Don't give anything a "slight turn." I'm betting the "adjustments" you found are the selectors to change the hydraulics from one-way to two-way. They get turned a full 1/4 turn only. Any slight adjustment will result in big trouble.

M in MO: Is the hitch leaking down and this happens as the hydraulics make the correction. It could be adjustment or it could be bypassing in the hitch lift cylinder. Tell me more.

Hugh, first thanks for the reply. No, the hitch is not leaking down, I don't know why I thought it was the hydraulics. I know where the adjustments are maybe I could give them a slight turn?

M inMO: What happens if you leave the hitch about the half way mark on it's lift range? Sometimes the lever on these gets out of adjustment and tries to raise the hitch beyond it's upper limit. I guess I should have asked, I'm assuming it has fast hitch or 3 point hitch. Does it have other hydraulic control valves for remote cylinders?
