I recently took the head off of my 51 M to replace the head gasket the inside of the cylinder sleeves measured 4 " . My question is,is this factory or has this tractor had a overbore kit installed ? Thanks for the help.

M had 3-7/8" bore, for displacement of 247.7 c.i.
Super M had 4" bore, for displacement of 263.89 c.i. (Source: Farmall Letter Series Tractors--Fay and Kraushaar).

The original sleeve measured less than 4'',3 7/8'' I believe.Yours has had a 4'' overbore kit put in it,which is likely what you'd get now if you were to replace the original sleeves now.I'm not sure if the original sleeves would still be available.
