I like the rear hydraulic remote that you put on your M.

A friend has one that came off of a 3020 John Deere. It seems to be in good condition, he wants $75.oo for it.

I am wondering if most of the couplings are innerchangeable or will connect alright, and if this one may work.

If it will I think I will get it and put it on the Super M.

It looks a lot like this one;

JD has a kit to change them to Pioneer couplers.

Sorry but it won't work cause they are the wrong color. It's against the Farmall code of ethics. lol

Hey Guys, I am updating my 706 to the Hydraulic block from an 86 series tractor. The bracket bolts up to the side of the Rear gear case, and the block will be converted to the Pioneer style ends. Not a cheap upgrade, but worth it.

Yep,

Everybody in the world seems to do this. Could you explain why? What could you possibly gain?

Never understood the motavation behind this conversion.

Thanks,

Allan

As Allan said, you'll need to use the John Deere hose ends, BUT, the John Deere hose ends WILL NOT FIT a standard hydraulic hose. John deere did not use the 1/2" tapered pipe thread fittings. Instead, they used a machine style thread, which had to be sealed with a rubber O-ring. There may be such a thing as a JD hose end that will fit a standard hydraulic hose, otherwise you can get adapters.

WHERE did you get a silly idea like that?

There's NO problem getting "Deere-style" male tips with standard pipe thread.

The thread JD used was SAE o-ring boss. (ORB, SAE J514) It was not a unique JD thread. Any hydraulic fitting store can match.

If you only look at the thread diameter and pitch, the threads on a JIC 37 deg flare,(SAE J514 37) and SAE o-ring boss are the same. ORS, o-ring face seal, is a bit larger on the thread diameter.

There are many ISO threads out there such as DIN,(German) JIS,(Japanese) BSP,(British) and GAZ (French)

Re: Fitting adaptors in your coupler ??? in reply to Heat Houser, 03-22-2008 10:37:07
I see from your photo that the adaptor fittings are already in your coupler block. The block itself is ORB. The fittings adapt from ORB to JIC 37 degree flare. You will need JIC hose ends. (Sorry, I don't know what size, maybe -6)

FYI, the Dash size system is in 1/16s of an inch. So, a 1/2 inch hose is -8....8/16s which will take an -8 hose end and a -8 JIC. A -6 hose would be 6/16s or 3/8s of an inch.

You betcha!

If it is any good (doesn't leak), it will work just fine and will be a simpler installation too; ya won't have to build a bracket to install. Just drill a couple of holes to bolt 'er on.

You will of course have to use the John Deere hose ends with that head. Yes, those connectors at the block are standard and can be bought at any hydraulic outlet store.

The reason I used the 66 series block was to stay constant with all my various equipment's hose ends. Wanted 'em all the same.
