I am replacing the original leather seals with new IH seals on my A.The new ones are much slimer. When I replaced other seals that were this thick the replacements were a set of 2 put togeather. Has anyone replaced theirs lately?
Thanks Ray

If you want to try an idea that i have used in the past. Put two seals in, back to back. The first in the normal direction, followed by another in the opposite direction. Put some grease in the cavity between the two if you wish. The idea is that the outer seal keeps the dirt out and protects the inner seal that is keeping the oil in.
All the best,
Rex

After taking all this out I used one thin seal. Working fine. David.third party image

The original seals were leather. The thin replacements are much better. One is probably enough, you can use more. The outside seals will eventually wear out if you do not use grease when you install them, I don't know how much longer that makes them last. But cheap insurance.
