Thanks

Allan, the next size is 14.9x38. Of course they have changed that to metric, but you should still be able to find them in that size. How far are you from Kearney? There is a large dealer (Nebraska Tire) that has a warehouse out west of there, full of tractor tires. I do not have a telephone number for them, but I think they are on the 'net. HTH, JohnG

Allen, I havent bought tires in a few years now, but if youre putting them on your M, make sure you get 6 ply or better tire since you have that 3pt on there. One of my 41s has some original 4 plys, not origianl to the tractor, but original to a later model M. It use to squat those down pretty good even pumped up a little high. My 40 M, with the same 3pt I had on my 41, has newer 6 ply on it and with a 7ft "Bushhog", it still squats them, but not near as much.

I'd definately go 15.5's on 14" rims. The 15.5 and 13.6 are the same height, thus not effecting your gearing. 14.9's are designed for 12" rims, and a lot of M's have them, but 15.5's look sooooo oo much better.

14.9x38's are the next bigger but I don't know how common they are any more. 15.5x38s are a lot more common but I think to do it right you should have a wider rim than the original rims for the 13.6x38s. Lee

It depends on the brand and construction. Generally I have found the 14.9X38 stands taller than a 15.5X38 but not always. I am always measuring used tires trying to find the tallest and widest for farm stock tractor pulling. No matter a 14.9 or 15.5 looks better on a 14 inch rim. Just my opinion.

A 14.9 tire is taller and a 15.5 is wider but will have the same diameter.
