I took the yoke of my throw-out bearing out of my Super-A without noticing that it has a 'lean' built into it. Now I don't remember which side faces forward.

Or, maybe it's bent. In the parts-manual, it appears to be straight.

Anybody have a thought?

And if it IS supposed to be bent, is my hand toward the FRONT of the yoke, or the REAR?

Thanks!

I just put one in a Super C the other day and it was straight. I can check my Super C later this afternoon as I have the motor out of it. As a side note I believe there are two different push rods that run inside the bellhousing. I am currently making a Super C out of about 1 1/2 tractors one of which is a C, lots of parts are different between them. What year is your Super A? tractorsam

Look for worn places where the yoke contacts the throwout bearing carrier. This will be the front side. If clutch operation was OK when it came out, put it back in.

I agree. It looks straight in the online catalog. I would compare it to a new one. David. Link

Looking at a I&T shop manual for a A. It is shaped like your pis. Your hand is on the back side. (seat side). Bill

My memory is foggy on it, too. I'm havin' two thoughts, though. If it was originally straight and was bent during from years of use, it would have bent forward.

That said, how far did you dismantle the rod that pushes it? If the rod length hasn't changed much, you could turn it to whichever way matches up to your rod once you have it hooked onto the back end. (Just remember to make sure the pedal is up when you check it.)

I think mine was straight and I don't remember having to worry about how it was mounted. I’ve already installed the engine, so I can’t check it for you. Greg
