On my drive home from work two days ago, I thought I noticed 2 Farmalls missing from a small farm I passed. They were rusty and broken down. I stopped by last year to look at them. One was an H that was beat up pretty bad. The other was a '41 M with a wide front that looked pretty good. He said the transmission was out. Anyway, I enjoyed looking at them. Last night I confirmed that they were, indeed, gone. I wanted to stop by and ask, but I'm sure he sold them to the scrap man, and I just don't want to think about it. There was nothing I could do for them anyway with no money and no where to put them.
Just proves "You can't save them all", but it still saddens me watching that old iron disappear. :?

I'm sad, too. Fuel prices went up and I haven't made it to a single engine show in two years. :(
I think the price of steel is high enough I might just scrap out a couple of my parts tractors this summer for gas money.

What do ya need? I have a 42 H and a 46 W-9. Some engine parts, etc. Some of the parts are bound for eBay (IH wide front ends), but some just aren't worth the shipping cost anymore.

I'll be home in April and can take pictures or look for whatever you might need.

Steven, do you happen to have a good exhaust manifold from that w-9? I'm working on trading for one that needs one. Not sure what all other parts I'd need yet...hate to see ya scrap one with something I'd need! But then again I can see your angle too...let me know what ya have. I'm a couple hours east of Allan in NE but could meet ya someplace on your way back and forth from ND.....Thanks!

I'd have to check, I'm not sure but my parts tractor sat with an open exhaust and I think the manifold rusted through.

If you mean the belt pulley gear box, I have that. As far as the paper pulleys themselves, I have a couple but am not willing to part with them. None of the H's I've ever seen in person have had the starting tank, I keep hoping I can snipe one from eBay, but no dice so far.

It seems there may be enough interest to post an ad when I'm home in April...

Sorry for hijacking your thread, Mike. I do hate to see some of these tractors scrapped out, but on the other hand some of them are just about too far gone to fix. My parts H rearend would need ALL the gears and bearings to make it good again, not worth fixing IMO.

My Dad bought a 1946 H a little while ago and now he bought another 1946 H with a wide front, he will use the wide front on the other H and probably part out the other one. My Dad is looking for a belt pulley, I'm looking for a starting tank and maybe a few other parts.

It does not mean if they are "gone" they went for scrap, someone else with money might have bought them and fixed them up!

Well its a 50/50 thing some one may have saved them or some one may have scrapped them. That is why I'm up to 34 or 35 tractors. Shoot just a couple weeks ago I traded 3 old junk cars for 2 Case VACs just to save them from being scrapped

Not necessarily.Did you stop to think that someone spied those 2 tractors and bought them for parts or restoration.Anyone can match what the junkman is going to offer.
