Hey fellas. I am getting a Farmall cub that needs carb work but otherwise seems decent. needs paint or at least a good cleanup. It has some type of hydro conversion and comes with a belly mower, plow, snow plow and cultivators. What is something like that worth? I couldn't hear it run but was told it needs a carb rebuild.

I may sell it I may keep it I canot decide.

For some reason those Cubs go extremely high in my area (NE Kansas). I watched in shock as a 1954 Cub in the condition you describe except all four tires where flat and one rear was blown out and only had a belly mower (wouldn't start but would turn over) go for $1700. I went there expecting it would go for $700-$800 tops.

If it will turn over and has decent tires its worth at least $800-$900. It could easily go for twice that (not saying its worth it though). You see these on Ebay all the time with minimum reserves of $1500 - $2000, those cub owners are pretty good about keeping the price up there. If it doesn't sell they'll keep it in the barn until it will bring what they want.

Here in the North-East a good running Cub can be had for about $2,500 with equipment like that. I just picked up 2 Cubs for parts non running "one used to be White but has no sir.# tag". I got them for $500 each with a few extras oh them. You need to decide what to pay if you like the tractor. Good luck. Jim

You need to at least find out if the engine is free and not stuck. If the engine is stuck, then the entire package is not worth much more than what the belly mower and snow plow are worth. I'd be real cautious on the deal.

That is a very good point, Rusty. My estimates are too high without knowing that the tractor could easily be a "runner". mike

$1,200 to $2,000, depending upon a lot of things not described in enough detail in your brief, one paragraph description. mike durhan

I am going to get it cheap, and would rather sell it quick. If I can't and decide to keep it I will likely primp it up till I can make top price on it, But again I would rather move it.

Thanks for the replys. I appriciate the feedback.
