Have a 1936 F20 with electric start and would like to install a battery box. Question is: Where? Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks.

Since electric start was not an IH built option (they were made by Heisler) there really is no "correct" place to put it. So put it wherever it looks and fits best. On the F-14 electric start was a factory option. On those the battery could be mounted on either side of the frame or behind the seat depending on what mounted implements were being used on the tractor.

I think the original box mounted next to the steering post and fuel tank, but like Dean said, you can mount them on the frame rail, I've seen it done with a H battery box and it looks good.

I mount them on the "Rail" on the drivers's right hand side above the pulley. On one I used a M battery box. E-mail me and I will send you pictures next week when I return home.
