Anyone following this Farmall F-12 on ebay?? Its either an F-12 with the F-14 steering and brake lever parts, or an F-14 with F-12 decals. I think if I was that much time and effort into re-doing a F-12, I would at least use the correct parts for the tractor.

I started working on my own 1934 F-12 WF tractor last September and had to stop when cold weather set in. Can`t wait to get back at it this spring. Mine is on round spoke rubber all around with 40" closed tread tires on the rear. They should set the tractor off quite nice when it is finished. I had all the parts for my tractor in a pile in the barn for over 20 years. Last year, I decided it was about time to get started on the project.

I recently purchased a 37 f12 with matching #s set up the same way, minus the wide front.

$7000 for THAT? What are those people smoking? Yup, the wide front is relatively rare and worth some bucks but the rest of it is as common as fleas, and the "extensive restoration" didn't even include the correct decals.

P.T. Barnum was right...

The engine is F14 with the vent in the valve cover with the block tapped to hold the vent tube. F14's had 3 studs thru the valve cover also. The radiator is an F12 radiator though

Its got a 14 enigne on it, unless the valvecover was used from a 14.

I am not intimatly familiar with 12's but, there was a dealer upgrade package for the 12 that included the 14's high steering post, so this one may in fact be correct. Real nice looking tractor either way.

I thought about that also. Serial number tags bearing FS 155402 to FS 155902 were assigned to Field Change-over packages for converting F-12 tractors to F-14. If it were one of those 500 tractors, I would think that the seller would have made a note of that to help sell the tractor. No mention of the serial number was even put in the auction. I never knew for sure if those packages were for the general public or sent to dealers to put on the last of the unsold 1938 F-12`s as the new F-14`s were coming out.

"unforgiven" you are correct. IHC sold/supplied a conversion kit for upgrading f-12 into f-14. For new tractors on the dealer's lot, they also supplied a new serial number for it. For tractors taken on trade-ins, overhauls, or customer upgrades they did not change the serial number, but would upgrade the tractor from f-12 to the f-14 by changing the steering post, knuckle, seat riser, head, valve cover and breather, and the oil filter/pressure relief; if the tractor had the web style front bolster that was upgraded to the solid cast style (the web style had a nasty tendency to crack and snap in two). I recently bought a 1933 F-12 serial number 3072 that has had this upgrade; I have all the parts to return it to the original state. This tractor is cool in the fact that it was the 37th one made with the IHC engine and has many different parts/details from the rest of the production tractors.
