Hey W6 guys???
have you ever seen the front light's on the bottom of the side of tractor??
I saw this in a brochure and it had the light's mounted on the bottom angled out, and up on L shaped arm's,
really cool looking too, ,
alot better looking than ones ive seen on the top side's,
Seem's like they would be outta the way too and not be prone to be bumped like the ones on top,
Much more classic looking,

The W-4 and W-6 had lights mounted on the bottom of the frame, using cast mounting brackets, until about 1949 when they shiffted to the top of side ahead of the W-6 insignia using fabricated brackets. The orchard tractors used the same cast light brackets but they were placed under the radiator out of the way. The W-4 frame has mounting holes on the sides of the chassis casting at the base of the radiator and also sets of mounting holes below the radiator as well. Thw W-4 W-6 W-9 tractors used the low side mounts and the O-4, O-6 used the under frame mounts

Hi Bob
Its kirk,
I was just looking at the antique Farming website,
and on the mc cormick deering brochure it showed the lights I was talking about,
go to the webstie and go to the mc cormick ads for standard tractors and then scroll down and you'll see the light's on the bracket's on the standard tractor's,
really cool looking too i think youll like the picture of them as i know i did and i like the Case stuff on there too especially the 1200's and the 930 stuff too,
All great color pic's too,
see ya later ok,
keep in touch ok bob,
Kirk

The low light position was standard for the orchard series (O/OS-4 and -6) equipped with lights - like the O-4 in this photo. No reason headlights for a W-6 could not be similarly mounted.

Incidentally I agree - the low mount lights do look kinda cool...

Hi Bob,
I guess I saw the lights on this 6 in the old ad mounted on the bottom sides of the grille, not underneath the grill on the bottom sides of it on i think L shaped brackets,
maybe this was an advrtisement type thing, but it was really cool looking,
