whats the diference between a super m with farmall serial number and a louisville serial number? were they diferent manufacture plants or something else?

Gene's right. The only difference is where the tractors were assembled and their serial numbers.

I have two '53 SM's - one each from Louisville and the Farmall Works. Aside from the serial number format on the nameplates the tractors are identical.

The FARMALL WORKS was in ROCK ISLAND,IL The Ms were assembled there so when they started assy in LOUISVILLE different serial #s were used to keep them seperate.
