I want to add a live hydraulic pump farmall wd9 tractor. It appears I can pull the distributor (adapter) and add a pump in its place and remount the distributor? If so does anyone know the P/N of the pump or what tractors share the same pump?

Cheapest way to go on a W-series tractor would be a shaft straight through the front bolster to a pump. Took a Char-Lynn set up off a WD9 a few years back, should have taken pictures...

Pretty easy to make a mount with those 4 bolt holes right up there, simple sleeve over the crankshaft with a pin through it and a shaft/sleeve to the pump. Could probably set it all up for around $250, depending on how big of a pump you need.

the hydraulic pump is i h part number 355 554 r91 they are the same for the gas and diesel. according to my parts book, the pesco part number for the pump is 052168-020-01. you will also need the flange to connect pump to hydraulic lines, part number 355 556 r1.

All Diesels and W9 gas Are CCW rotation... been there..there are different mounting patterns though..M for sure is different. make a pattern of bolt spacing and look around found one at a wreaking yard all ready off of tractor.. not sure what it is off of..

My WR-9 has a pump and system added from a 600 or 650 gasser. Perhaps you can add one from a 600 or 650 diesel. A complete system contains reservoir, valves, outlets, pump and possibly useable hoses. Pressure may be only in the 1500 psi range. I don't know for sure.

You do have to watch rotation of pump!

The pump is rare and unique to Diesels in the IH/farmall line. I do not think there have been any aftermarket pumps made, but I could be wrong.
The pump is opposite rotation. Check the caseih.com parts listing for possible matches. Ebay, and bone yards might be two places to find one. Steven f/AZ has put belt driven pumps on successfully, and there are pictures he has posted. JimN

I would like to see a picture of the 3pt hitch when you get it mounted. Thankyou. Armand

Check with your dealer or have patience, but that probably is a 300 or 400 pump. If you check back a couple of days you will find a discussion of installation on an H which might help. Patience will get you many answers from the fine folks on this site.

Pump from a 300 will NOT work, too small. I dunno about a 400 pump. Be aware that pump rotation is opposite on a MD and 400D from the gas ones, think the WD9 is opposite of the W9 also.
