I just got a W-9 that has a serial # WCR 30032 W1B. The R could be a B as it was hard to read. I know what the year is, although it was suppose to be a 1945, but I was wondering what the letters stood for.

Thanks Jim

Thanks guys. I was told that the B was for the snap ring wheels on the back. Juat had never heard of that.

Per Guy Fay's IHC Data Book your serial number is from 1948.

W1B suffix indicates gasoline engine for 5,000 foot altitude.

The prefix should be WCB.

Jim,
I am looking in Guy Fays book and according to your serial number you have a 1948.
Begining prefix is WCB. As for W1B, it may be W13 which is for swinging drawbar.
There are several "W" codes to choose from
W12
W12A
W12B
W12C
W13
W13A
