Does anyone know of a source to get a reconditioned valve or anyone who tests used ones to make sure they do not leak? I have one that leaks slightly and with a loader on that valve, it is just annoying to have to keep lifting the loader all the time. I have put on a used one from a used tractor company and it leaks some also. Not as much as the original one, but still some.

I have done all the testing of the valve body by switched the valves to other pieces of implement and they drop on this valve and not the other. The loader also holds on the inner valve. The main problem is the inner valve controls my rear hitch and auxilary lift. I also had the original valve checked out by a hydraluic shop and the valve body was wore excessive! So I know the problem is in the valves. Only problem is finding a GOOD one!! Many of them already are worn from the use. The hydraulic guy told me he found a person who tested them. Only problem is before I got back to pick up the valve, he moved to another job out of state. So there went my phone number he had!!

Lynn: Farmall 300 equipped with 2 or 3 valves always used the valve closest the reservoir for fast hitch. Bear in mind that is the extreme right lever, and the lever must be pushed forward for raising. Always, the valve on extreme right was used for loader, again this is the lever on the extreme left. If equipped with a 3rd valve in center, and it operated depth control cylinder on hitch, hydraulic bucket or right side cultivators.

In all cases 300 control valve levers must be pushed forward to extend a hydraulic ram.

I know all this as I use to work for an International dealership as a technician. The information I am looking for is where to find a valve?

Lynn: Set your loader on top of a post, 6' up, disconnect the quick couplers. Back off untill loader weight comes on the closed couplers, if it stays up problem is in the valve as you suggest. If it continues down, problem is in the cylinders.

If you are talking about a spool valve and I would say sounds like it. The problem may very well be in the valve, because that is what spool valves do over time. The best fix is to install a check valve to hold the load. But check the cylinders as the others said.

Lynn: The problem is bypassing within the loader cylinders, you've done the process elimination, now just believe in it.

Are you sure its not your cylinders on the loader leaking by the pistons?

Gary
