For some time now, I have not been able to pull up the auction on Y T. Who knows the status of that very helpful service? Is there another similar auction service available? Thanks for your help.

If you want an auction, unfortunatly, Ebay is probably the only one big enough to do you any good. You can set up a store on www.ecrater.com. You will ahve to do your own promoting, but right now it is free to set up the store. You can promote it how you want, using google, local papers, what ever you feel good about.

The YT auction was too easy for shady characters to jump bids on their own auction, and it was also too easy for the seller to say, "I didn"t get enough so I won"t sell."

eBay is not the best solution, but it certainly reaches a wider audience and has the potential to get a person more $$ for their item.

Ebay might get you the most money, but after all of those fees, and pay pal fees, you are lucky to break even.

After having bought and sold numerous items on eBay, I can assure you that the fees are NOT that bad. Assuming I could get $1500 for a tractor from YT and $2000 off eBay, I would still gross more $$ from eBay after the fees.

Also, auctioneers have started to charge admission and a buyer"s premium to get into a farm auction - and people still show up. Now that is completely ridiculous - it is up to the seller to pay the fees for selling items, not the buyer.

I too miss the YT auction site. Ebay is a PITA,hard to fiqure out what is going on there. I beleive YT could set up something similiar but does not need to be quite so complicated.
