I am going to a sale next monday. What I want is a IH two point to three point conversion for a SC. They also have a FH sickle mower on the auction for a SC. I am thinking about getting the mower but I want to know if there are parts available for them. Does anyone know? Thanks Ron

Worst thing-after 54 years of use-most FH C's hitch gets loose and the mower gets dragged without the end shoe leading the inch & 3/4 or whatever. Check the ledger plates and see if they are good on the outside & smooth on the other. Mower great, tractor's hitch gets sloppy. Not an easy fix.

I didn't know the guards were "one size fits all" type.

What shhould I look for when I am looking at this mower as far as bad things to watch out for? Ron

Glad to know parts are available for them. I'm currently in the market for a FashHitch Sickle-Bar mower for the Super-C I recently purchased.

Like Wayne says, not much to go wrong unless it's a balanced-head type. Pitman type mowers have a lot less moving parts: A few bearings, a belt, a couple of pulleys, and a stick. The sickle sections are universal, as are the guards. Aftermarket sticks (pitman arms) are available.

I have a 2-point mower for my SC. Not much to ever go wrong. Parts are available.
