Noticed a lot of slop in the shaft of the distributor, both up and down and side to side. Pulled it out and found the gear worn on one side which explains why it tried to sound like a green tractor. Noticed the parts aren't retired, is there any place that rebuilds them or is that an option?

That extra Hydraulic pump may make that distributor a delco unit. Take the numbers to your NAPA store to see if parts can be had. If it is an IH dist. and couples to a special gear box for the pump, The bushings can be replaced with common bushing stock, made just a bit longer to allow unworn shaft to be used. Gears are possibly your biggest hangup. Good luck. JimN

Dealer will have the gear in tomorrow, of course it comes in a $50 kit now but I'll take it. Can't wait to get her on a plow to she how she does.

I assume you have a magneto which most MDs did. Magman who used to post frequently on this site can rebuilt the magneto for you. I think I have his E mail someplace if you will send me an E mail, I will look it up and send to you.
