Hi All , I finally got the M tranny opened up and taken apart yesterday . The pilot bearing was gone . The other bearings are going to be replaced since all that metal was floating around in there . We haven't gotten around to taking bearings off of shafts yet . Does anyone have a list of after market bearing numbers for all the bearings in the final drive and transmission ? I'm going to get bearings at Motion Industries if that helps . I also have IH and Napa as sources . Thanks ! ...Randy

I rebuilt a Super H tranny couple years back. I found that the bearings were cheaper at IH from C&G in Wisconsin than from Motion industries. However, the seals were a little cheaper at Motion, but the difference was small, so I got the whole thing(seals, bearings and gaskets) from C&G.

It is the number of balls in the bearing that makes the difference in the price. Make sure that you are comparing apples to apples. I think that the pilot bearing has to come from IH. Check the inside of the input gear as there is no outer race on that bearing.

Randy, I replaced all the bearngs in my SM this past summer. I found the bearings to be substantially less expensive through Case/IH. I was able to purchase all from C&G in Wisconsin.

Randy, I just took the old bearings, or the remants of them, to Napa. They can cross the numbers on the bearings just as good as, if not faster and easier than Motion can, and in most cases it was cheaper at Napa. SOME of the bearings are cheaper at Case, but not all, and it may be just as much or more if it has to be shipped.

If you are not in a major rush for your parts at IH, just ask them to put it on their regular stock order. No shipping charges that way!
My local dealer gets an order every week so I can get parts rather soon.
