Bob: A major change in that steering system, occured around serial number 310300. The tyrods changed, steering control arm changed as did most of the steering box internal workings. I haven't seen all of this, however I suspect the boxes are the same, but if you change one moving part from steering wheel to the front spindle, you must change it all. I would check that in a parts book before ordering.

I've never been personally involved with any of the tractors before serial 310300, but I do know a couple of guys that made a lot of exchanges at the salvage yards before they had the right parts.

Andrew i have a sector gear out of an A in my 63 140 BUT the teeth count where different so i had to use the steering shaft out of the A slso the 140 now steers harder than it did because of the different ratio but its not that much so you will need to count the teeth
