Does anybody know how to adjust the 3 point on a 1486 so it comes as high as it did when it was new. When it was new the upper 3 point arms came up so they were very close to the fuel tank. Now they're down a ways. I guess they are supposed to measure 39 3/16 inches from the pin at the front of the lower arm to the pin at back of the upper arm when its raised clear up, mine only measures 37 1/2. Need it to load round bales on a bale trailer so I need all the height I can get. Thanks Lee

You may have already tried this but I remember on our 186 hydro there were two levers for the 3 point; the actual up and down and then there was a load adjustment lever. I remember playing around with the load adjustment lever and the arms would pull up higher with the up and down lever all the way up. Been a long time since I dealt with it but worth a try.

Thanks for the replies guys. The indexing arrows are lined up thats never been apart. The bottom of the control lever seems tight. I got a hold of a ihc chassis manual and it talks about an adjustmnt but I couldn't figure out where it was so I looked at my IT 856 book and it talked about an adjustment behind the 3rd link bracket. I tried adjusting that, but it made no difference. so now I don't know what to do, that extra couple inches would get me just enough to work. Lee

Two other things to check. I had this problem on my 1086. The bushing in the shaft on the bottom of the contol lever was worn out. There is a slot on the control rod that can be adjusted also.

Are the indexing arrows lined up?

Maybe someone had 'er down for repairs and didn't get it back together right?

Allan

The index arrows are on the splined end of the rockshaft and on the rockshaft arms, there might be two arrows on the rockshaft use the upper one.
